Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd. a premier provider of AI-driven next-generation detection solutions for concealed weapons and threats, is excited to announce the successful installation and operational launch of its HEXWAVE system at Rochester and Manchester Airports. These deployments are part of the new TSA mandate on employee screening. Additionally, HEXWAVE units have been installed at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
In April 2023, a mandate was issued requiring U.S. airports to implement physical screening procedures for employees with access to secure areas of the airport. This mandate was further reinforced by a U.S. Court of Appeals decision, which denied airports the ability to delay the screening process. To comply with these requirements, airports must adopt technologies that offer comprehensive threat detection capabilities, meeting both current and future screening standards.
In line with this, the Company has shipped initial units to fulfill an order from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). These units will be used to screen staff and visitors entering correctional facilities, ensuring enhanced security and compliance with strict screening protocols.
The HEXWAVE system employs millimeter wave technology, advanced 3D imaging, and AI to detect concealed metallic and non-metallic threats, as well as other prohibited items. This innovative system enables rapid, automated screening through a high-throughput, contactless walkthrough portal, effectively identifying liquid, powder, and plastic explosives, 3D-printed ghost guns, and other contraband that traditional metal detectors on the market are unable to detect.
